Bakumatsu Kourinden ONI
Missables

Every item, ally, summon and event you can lose for good, sorted by the moment it disappears, so you can clear each group before you move on.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

ONI is generous about letting you wander, but it quietly closes doors behind you: dungeons seal after their boss, NPCs leave town when the story moves on, and a single wrong answer can lose an ally or a summon forever. This page lists all of them, taken from the game’s event script rather than from memory.

126things that close at a story point
24lost by one wrong choice
17chapters with a deadline

How to use this list

  • Grouped by deadline. Each group is headed by the chapter in which the items close. Clear the group before you finish that chapter.
  • Ticks are shared with the Complete Walkthrough: tick an item here and it is ticked there too (same browser).
  • “Details” jumps to the full entry in the walkthrough, with the steps around it.
  • Everything not listed here stays available until the final point of no return on Mt. Fuji (Chapter 29).

The five easiest to miss

🗼 Red Tachi (Hiramitsu Tower, Ch. 12)

The only Red Tachi sits on tower 3F. Once the escape starts, every floor above 1F is sealed, and with it goes Kurama, the ally who wants that sword.

🦝 Tanukichi (Beppu, Ch. 13)

Answer No to “Believe him?” and the whole Youkai Village, all 16 residents and the Furinkazan reward, is gone.

🦊 The fox (Kagoshima, Ch. 11)

Refuse to pay the 2,000 gold (you get it back) and the fox dies. No Inari summon means no Seima Doji at the end either.

🔱 Gundari (Herai pond)

Only Touya can learn it, so it must be done before he leaves the party for good in Chapter 21. Only five spears work.

⛰️ Mt. Minakami inner cave (Ch. 2)

Three chests in the inner cave are sealed by a cave-in right after the youkai fight. Open them first.

Youkai Village (Shikoku map) — Tanukichi
Once all 16 residents above (Running Jizo not needed) live in the village, talk to Tanukichi.
Lost for good if any required resident was exterminated or turned away. Script quirk: for Beppu's Ayashibi, taking the 200 gold from the Edo savings jar counts in its place.details

The final deadline

On the last visit to Mt. Fuji the game asks “Are you ready?”. Answering Yes, or walking back into the mountain cave after answering No, is the point of no return: every NPC ally leaves (your pet stays) and you can never walk back out. Every summon, ally, youkai, refit and side quest in the game ends there. The walkthrough’s Chapter 28 is a last-chance checklist for that moment.
